Clear sketches
I posted two sketches I was working on a while ago. I posted two sketches I had drawn a while ago on the web. These were drawn at the beginning of February. One is a sketch of a mocha pot. The second is an exercise in character illustration.
I want to draw sketches more clearly. So I have added 2B pencils to my art supplies. I was not dissatisfied with what I drew in my sketchbook and to look at it by myself. But when I adjusted the black and white clearly to publish this, it was no longer good. The unevenness of the paper and eraser marks were as dark as the pencil lines, and it was getting away from what I could see and feel. In the past, I added markers to my art supplies to try to solve this. But markers could not draw lines as smoothly as pencils, nor could they be erased. Gradually I stopped using them.

Looking Back
Here is the extra. I look back at my illustration review notes. I will remember how I felt at the time, and I will also extract any parts that I think would be useful to look at now.
The layers with eyes drawn on are in front of the bangs. This looks unnatural. But this is not an uncommon expression in illustrations. But in this picture, the eyes are too transparent or protrude too much.
To begin with, I had intended to hide the eye layer more in the forelock. However, when I tried to hide it, it looked very unrefined. I realized this toward the end of the painting. Therefore, I made it opaque and it floated away like this. If I had split the bangs more finely, I might have been able to solve this problem.
Eyes through bangs, is a familiar expression in character illustrations. However, I learned at the time that there is a limit to this as well.
August 2023 was the month I painted nothing else except for this illustration. This has slowed my drawing muscles. This week I also drew an illustration for the first time in two weeks. I also skipped basic practice. I am aware that my drawing this week is a little out of tune. I need to practice.
